A lot of people over the years have asked me how I started EDS Ring Splints. If you’re reading this, I’m sure you understand when I say that having a chronic invisible illness like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, in addition to the pain, is both scary and expensive. When I was first diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos in 2010, with its debilitating stretchy, bending joints, I began looking into ring splints. What I found was very expensive, and required a trip to an OT for a prescription.
I’m a Missouri girl, which some of you will recognize as the Show Me State, and I am known for my stubborn nature. I decided to research into ring splints, and ended up buying the raw materials and the equipment to create my own custom ring splints.
My ring splints are made from .925 Sterling Silver, and are available at a fraction of the cost of larger ring splint companies. It has been a real pleasure discovering that a product that could help me so much has also helped hundreds of others who suffer from Elhers-Danlos Syndrome and joint hypermobility.
I have experimented with various materials for the Ring Splints, but the Sterling Silver makes the best product. I hope they can help you as much as they’ve helped me. I’ve been sick this week, so those of you who have placed orders or have questions, please bear with me if I move slowly. For now, carry on Spoonies, and may the Fork be with you…
